Frequently Asked Questions About Blazing's Products
How do I get the saddle to lock to the pipe?
Just Push Down! If you slip the saddle over the pipe and push your palm down on the thread area, the saddle will latch itself to the pipe. If this doesn't work try pushing down in the same way and squeeze the two legs on the side. Channel locks, pliers or other tools will not make it easier. It is actually harder.
Will the PVC saddles work on Schedule 40 pipe?
Yes and no, the PVC saddle only works on class 160 and 200 PVC pipe. Schedule 40 is too thick for the spike to self-tap the pipe. However, you can pre drill a hole and the saddle will work.
Do I need to use this included tool with PVC saddle?
Yes! The tool helps to support the tip of the saddle as it goes through the pipe.
Do I have to strip the wires before I put them in the wire connector?
The BVS1 Wire Connector is our only self-stripping wire connector. You don't have to strip the wires with that connector, but you do with all of the others.
